WELCOME TO
THE TRENTON FIRE DEPARTMENT

 

Nestled in the “Green Hills” of northern Missouri lies the city of Trenton, the seat of Grundy County. With a population of 6,216 people Trenton is an agriculturally based community with a great heart and friendly atmosphere. The Trenton Fire Department serves the city with a great deal of pride. Housed in the city’s Emergency Services Complex the department is comprised of 6 full-time firefighters and 8 pay-per-call firefighters. We work 24 hour shifts on a 9 day cycle. The department is organized to provide for life and property safety from the threat of fires, natural or man-made disasters, vehicle accidents and water emergencies. This is accomplished through planning, training, prevention, education, incident mitigation and appropriate application of technology.

    The Trenton Fire Department serves the community in these areas:
  • Fire Prevention
  • Fire Suppression
  • Inspection (Minimum housing, Pre-Fire Plan and Commercial)
  • Underwater Rescue/Recovery
  • Plans Review

The objectives of the Trenton Fire Department include preventing fires, extinguishing fires, preventing loss of life and property, confining fires to the place of origin, responding to water emergencies, completing all operations in a safe manner.

Water Emergencies: Respond to affect rescue and recovery in water emergencies; follow department Standard Operating Guidelines; current activities include training and training exercise.

Emergency Management: Compile all hazards within City and County; pre-plan for all hazards natural and man-made.

Fire Prevention Code Administration: Building inspection and plans review; minimum housing code inspection and enforcement.
